About jOVIE wILKERSON-wILLIAMS

A life surrendered to worship and service.

Jovie E. Wilkerson-Williams is a native of Jackson, Mississippi, and serves as a evangelist , educator, and gospel artist with a deep-rooted legacy in gospel music and community service. She is the daughter of the late Stevie McAfee, former member of the award-winning Canton Spirituals, and Mrs. JoeAnn Watkins.

Jovie attended Mississippi Valley State University, where she majored in Elementary Education, served as Gospel Choir Director, and was crowned Miss University Choir in 2007, all while singing with the world-renowned MVSU Concert and Gospel Choir. She later returned to Jackson and joined Benjamin Cone III & Worship, performing alongside notable gospel artists across the nation.

Ordained in ministry in 2020 and licensed as an evangelist in 2022. She is the founder of Jovie Williams Ministries and Purpose Clothing Co., and a proud member of the Mississippi Mass Choir. Jovie was named 2024 Praise and Worship Leader of the Year for the Golden Triangle Awards and has received over 30 musical award nominations to date.

Recognized for her leadership and community impact, Jovie is the recipient of the 2025 Emerging Leader Award and a member of the 2026 Mississippi 50 Under Fifty Urban Elite Professionals. She is committed to serving with purpose, believing that all things work together for the good of those called according to God’s purpose.

Worship is not treated as a performance, but as a sacred opportunity to serve God and His people with excellence and humility.

Whether leading a Sunday morning service, revival, conference, or special worship gathering, this ministry seeks to align with what God is already doing in the house. Songs, transitions, and moments of exhortation are guided by scripture and discernment, allowing worship to flow naturally and purposefully.

By working closely with worship teams and musicians, this ministry helps create an environment where unity, authenticity, and spiritual freedom can flourish. The goal is to support the local church, encourage meaningful encounters with God, and facilitate worship that is reverent, impactful, and rooted in biblical truth—leaving congregations strengthened, inspired, and spiritually refreshed.
